Comme une hirondelle qui a quitté sa maison, qui a laissé le soleil et la mer, elle a voyagé partout dans le monde, vécu des moments de larmes, de joie, connu la guerre (…)
Les deux concerts légendaires dans le monde grec ont marqué de manière indélébile sa carrière, la mémoire de ceux qui y ont assisté, c'est ce qu'offre à ses lecteurs l'édition de ce dimanche de l'Ethnos (la nation).

Il s'agit d'une collection unique qui se compose de quatre CD et deux DVD avec les enregistrements live sonores et vidéos live des deux seules soirées enregistrées. Pour le concert de 1984, il y aura deux CD et un DVD et pour le concert de 2008, deux CD inédits et un DVD. Ce dimanche, le coffret et le premier CD inédit de la nuit d'adieu de 2008 seront offerts avec le journal.

Nana Mouskouri a au fond de l'âme de nombreux souvenirs de ces deux concerts. Elle a voulu partager avec nous quelques-uns de ses souvenirs (...)

« Quand je suis arrivée à Hérodion en 1984, j'ai du me présenter devant le public grec après vingt ans d'absence. Même si j'avais fait une carrière réussie à l'étranger, j'avais l'angoisse d'une femme qui revient. J'avais peur que les Grecs ne se rappellent pas de moi ...

Constantin Karamanlis avait été un soutien pour moi à mes débuts. Quand j'ai gagné le Festival grec de la Chanson en 1959, j'ai reçu une note écrite de sa main : « A partir de maintenant, vous ne pouvez plus vous soucier uniquement de vous-même... »
Et quand il est venu à l'étranger pour m'écouter ... Elle se souvient des paroles de Konstantinos Karamanlis: «Finalement, Nana, vous nous êtes plus utile à l'étranger qu'en Grèce. »

Je n'ai jamais trouver autant d'amour ailleurs. 24 ans plus tard, en 2008, à la fin de ma tournée d'adieu, après avoir traversé les cinq continents et ayant chanté, plus récemment, au Sydney Opera, au Lincoln Center à New York, au Royal Albert Hall de Londres et à l'Opéra Garnier Paris, j'ai réalisé ce que je m'étais promis : terminer mon tour du monde à l'Herodion.

Cette fois-ci, ce fut George Loukos, président du Festival d'Athènes, qui, avec amour, m'a ouvert la porte de ce théâtre unique, et c'est Nikitas Kaklamanis, qui en tant que maire d'Athènes a appuyé fermement la réalsiation de les deux concerts.

Durant ces deux nuits magiques, les 23 et 24 Juillet, dans la paix absolue de mon âme et avec une émotion profonde devant tout le public présent, ma famille, les hommes politiques emmenés par le Premier Ministre, Costas Caramanlis, mes collègues et mes amis, venus des quatre coins du monde, j'ai déposé une dernière fois tout l'amour, tout le respect et l'appréciation des 50 ans de confiance du public, avec toute ma gratitude pour tout ce que j'ai appris au fil des années.

Si le premier concert à l'Odéon d'Hérode Atticus en 1984 était le retour, le second fut le chemin du retour (…) de terminer le cycle. Avec espoir, je réalise ma responsabilité de transmettre cet héritage à des personnes plus jeunes, avec le désir de créer le meilleur avenir possible. Mon propre cercle de la vie m'a appris que peu importe ce que je fais, ce qui importe c'est comment et pourquoi je le fais. J'ai appris que même dans le cours de votre vie vous ne pouvez pas être toujours le premier. … la chose la plus importante est de vouloir en apprendre toujours davantage et aller au-delà de vous-même.
